Natasa Vuskovic, known to the music world as Natalie Dime, started her music career as a remixer in her native Serbia. Her mixes gained acclaim as being ahead of her time. Inspired by musical innovations and emerging genres, her preferred genre at the time was trip hop. Inspired by the likes of DJ Shadow, DJ Vadim, Kid Koala, and Silent Poets, Natasa was fascinated by the art of composing through sampling. She extrapolated the messages that impressed her the most from her favorite songs in other genres, and constructed new stories around those messages, imbuing them with her own emotional reaction and life experiences. After moving to the US, Natasa put music production on hold for a while. During that period, she followed music as an aficionado and accumulated a large library of music, discovering more American underground and commercial music. She found new inspiration in the storytelling aspects of blues, folk, americana, rock, and R’n’B, and started writing her own life story in the form of lyrics. She feels a great connection with the songs of Van Morrison, Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Curtis Mayfield, Bjork, Billie Joe Armstrong, Babyface, and Max Martin, to name a few. What started as merely an outlet morphed over time into love, and she wrote more purposefully. Natasa again sought a way to combine her passion for music with her stories, and in 2015 she started reaching out to singers and producers of various genres, from festival-style EDM, future house and pop, to rock and metal. Her lyrics were well received and provided her opportunities to work with many up and coming singers and producers. Most notably so far, her song Take My Hand, produced by Myris and Solis, was chosen as the demo of the week on Apek Radio show in the summer of 2017. Natasa’s catalogue of collaborations grows as more of her songs reach audiences worldwide, in both Serbian and English. Invigorated by recent successes and motivated by the talent of the producers and singers she works with, she is looking forward to the upcoming releases.
