Whether it be as a music director, composer, arranger, music producer or performer,
chances are you have heard Kevin Teasley's work. He is one of Hollywood’s most
multi-talented and multi-faceted creatives in the music industry today.
While he’s called Los Angeles home for the past 17 years, Kevin spent his childhood and
formative years in Hopewell, a small town 20 minutes south of Richmond, Virginia, where he
developed his love and skill for music at an early age. He then went on to study music at
Virginia Union University, earning a BA in Music (Jazz Piano and Composition) and
graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1995.
Kevin modeled his career after one of his musical icons and inspirations, Quincy Jones. Like
Quincy, Kevin defies categorization and is always stretching and blurring the lines of his
work. He constantly steps into many worlds of the music industry and is adept in multiple
capacities.
Over the past fifteen years, Kevin has amassed a who’s who of recording artists/clients
spanning a wide range of eras and styles from The Jacksons, Usher, Katharine McPhee,
Empire (FOX), Star (FOX), Sofia Carson (Disney), Jennifer Lopez, Chris Brown, Tinashe,
Icona Pop, Boyz II Men, Backstreet Boys, TLC, and Keisha Cole, among others.
As founder and CEO of TONIC Music + Creative, Kevin also spends a considerable amount of
time in the studio writing and producing for his Los Angeles-based trailer and TV production
music company. His work has been featured on projects and with Hollywood brands and
studios including: Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Disney, MGM, Sony and Paramount. He
has scored and written additional music for films including ‘The Twilight Saga - Breaking
Dawn - Part 1’, ‘Let the Church Say Amen’ by producer Queen Latifah and Director Regina
King, the Amber Rose-starrer, ‘Sister Code’, ‘Stage Black’, ‘College Hill’, ‘Lil’ Kim -
Countdown to Lockdown’, and ‘DMX - Soul of a Man’.
Some of Kevin’s live concert and TV special credits include the Jennifer Lopez-headlined
DirecTV Super Saturday Night concert for Super Bowl weekend 2018, Disney's ‘Magical
Christmas Celebration’ on ABC, and Taraji P. Henson's, ‘White Hot Holidays’ TV Special on
Fox.
