Cheryl's got that unique combination of creative-mind-meets-critical-thinking-business-mind-meets-The-Hustle. As a songwriter and composer, she has learned the importance of communication - knowing what she wants and clearly articulating that to anyone who could possibly partner up. That includes fans. Hence her obsession with email, the best platform to grow those relationships over time for some wham-bam results.

Cheryl has over a dozen film scores, twice as many commercial jingles, and 60+ College Humor web series scores and parody productions under her belt. She got her start working in a hip hop recording studio where she earned her engineer tech chops, then moved on to composing for commercials in the advertising world after studying orchestration at Juilliard.

While learning the art of the jingle, Cheryl experimented with songwriting… she hired a band, made some records, toured the globe, and got over 40 TV show placements. Her most recent two records were fully funded by fans through her email list (raising over $20k each).

Cheryl speaks and writes about crafting a creative career and launched In The Key Of Success, a site of resources for musicians developing their creative career. She’s spoken at SXSW, the ASCAP EXPO, the Millennium Music Conference and dozens of colleges including her own alma mater, Cornell University. She writes the musician's life blog Living On Gigging and hosts the music business podcast Key Conversations.

To support her geeking-out-ness on email, Cheryl got certified as an Email Marketing Specialist through Digital Marketer (one of the biggest online marketing certification programs) and has created a course specifically for musicians to cover some really important topics on how to really make the most of an email list... and it's the stuff no one in the music industry is talking about.
