Eddie Fourcell
Matriarch Entertainment/Universal Music Group
Head of A&R
Eddie "A&R Eddie" Fourcell is currently head of A&R for Mary J. Blige's Matriarch Entertainment/Universal Music Group and head of 4Cell Entertainment, where he manages up and coming producers and talent.
His rise to a career as an A&R started in high school at the age of 17 years old when he was rewarded an Internship with Island Def Jam Music Group through the schools internship program. At the time, the label was home to superstar heavyweights Jay Z, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Fabolous, and Young Jeezy, just to name a few. After making several connections and networking within the company, Eddie was able to partner with industry heavyweights that saw management opportunities for artist/producers/songwriters and after graduating from College, was asked to intern for Mary J. Blige's newly created record label, Matriarch Entertainment. In less than a year of interning there, he was asked to work as lead A&R on Ms. Blige's 11th studio album, My Life II: The Journey Continues (2011).
While at the company he has worked as an A&R on several projects which include Ms. Blige's Think Like A Man 2 Soundtrack, the critically acclaimed The London Session, and her most current Strength of a Woman album which spawned the 10 week long adult R&B number 1 single "Thick Of It" .
A&R Eddie's ability to spot raw talent and develop them makes him amongst the hottest A&R's making a meaningful impact within the music industry.
